Yoram Eliyahu helps Chabad Feed the Hungry

Upon learning of the plight of New Yorkers unable to consistently feed their families, Yoram Eliyahu became involved with the Food-In-Need Project, organized by Chabad of Flushing.

Yoram Eliyahu a major sponsor of this worthy cause, which donates food to families in need in time for the Jewish holidays. Participating families receive meat or chicken, vegetables, fruits and breads during the holiday season, allowing them to have an enjoyable, traditional holiday meal which they otherwise would not have been able to afford. This practice benefits the receiving families and the community at large, contributing to an overall sense of togetherness and mutual support.

Chabad of Flushing, founded in 1997, is a local chapter of the worldwide Chabad organization. Chabad has its headquarters in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, NY and has branches in over 1,000 cities, and sponsors programs and activities in community centers, hospitals, schools and synagogues, as well as providing other valuable services to Jews in the community. It provides important services to individuals and families in need, as well as organizing relevant educational programs and events.

He involves his children in this effort to teach them the importance of caring for those in need and the personal satisfaction of performing good deeds. By passing down these values and practices, Eliyahu is encouraging a lifetime of charitable acts and community involvement.
